Medtronic and KARL STORZ announced a U.S. ENT collaboration on June 4, connecting Medtronic’s sinus surgery portfolio with KARL STORZ endoscopy and visualization equipment. The arrangement includes Medtronic’s Stealth AXiS ENT surgical system and sits within its AiBLE ENT ecosystem.
The companies said they would coordinate equipment evaluation, purchasing and implementation for ENT operating rooms. They also plan joint education through fellowship courses and industry congress sessions, giving surgeons opportunities to work with the technologies together.
Medtronic’s broader ENT portfolio spans navigation, powered instruments, tissue products and nerve monitoring. KARL STORZ contributes endoscopic imaging and instrumentation. The announcement focuses on coordinating these complementary technologies and their deployment, with medical education forming another part of the companies’ stated collaboration.
Analysis: Equipment buyers should watch whether coordinated procurement and training change how ENT operating rooms evaluate systems from multiple manufacturers.
