The preprint describes an electroencephalography resource for auditory-attention research. SoundBubble-EEG’s scenario labels describe simulated listening conditions, not EEG recorded during everyday meetings, restaurant visits or home television viewing. Participants heard spatialized audio through in-ear headphones inside an attenuated, electromagnetically shielded laboratory.
At Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the volunteers were native Chinese speakers who self-reported normal hearing. Formal blocks followed a fixed Meeting, Restaurant, then Home TV sequence.
That sequence is a design feature to retain when interpreting scenario comparisons. The methods alone do not establish performance in everyday use, clinical benefit or transfer to wearable equipment.
The v1 submission is dated October 7, 2026; experiment years and the exact first public posting remain unknown.
